Behind the Art: The Core:

A wet to dry mud wall look.

A Black shiny Volcanic Rock look.

A flat Volcanic "darker" rock wall look.

A Lunar texture rock wall look.

A folded sandstone textural look to the CORE.

THE CORE!

Client: Paramount Pictures via. BLT and Associates.
Art Director(s): Josiah Ludavico, Ronnie Blumenberg.
Project Date: Summer 2002.

While at BLT and Associates I worked on the print campaign for "The Core". One big component in the artwork was for the drill that goes to the Earths core. I did a variety of textural 3D backgrounds with dramatic lighting to be used as backgrounds and basic textures for the comps of multiple art directors. All the natural textures were created using Darkling Simulations Dark Tree Procedural Texture program and the free 3DS Plug-In Simbiont Max. We also used the textures for the Standees we designed for in the theaters lobby's.

Cheers, THOM
